Capsule Geology

The Kim showing is located in and parallel to Kim Creek, 7.25 kilometres from its junction with the Swanson River.

The area around the showing is at or near the contact of the Paleocene to Eocene Sloko-Hyder Plutonic Complex intrusions with quartzite, gneiss, schist and limestone of a Middle Devonian gneissic complex (Boundary Ranges Metamorphic Suite?). Rocks of the Eocene Sloko Group are also mapped in the Kim vicinity.

Locally, the showing is located in one of several poorly exposed fault (or shear?) zones in granitic rock containing meta-sediment or meta-volcanic remnants (termed amphibolite).

A 30 to 50 "piece" sample taken across a 4.5 to 6 metre width of the only visibly mineralized section (chalcopyrite and quartz with malachite staining) assayed 4.03 per cent copper, 0.82 per cent zinc, 109.696 grams per tonne silver and 0.6856 gram per tonne gold (Property File - McDougall, J.J., 1965).

In 2010, Blind Creek Resources held the Kim showing within its Florence claim. Exploration work on the claim consisted of a geochemical sampling survey consisting of 2 rock float samples, 3 rock grab samples and 6 silt samples. While the Kim showing was not located due to snow cover a grab sample from the claim area did yield 20 ppb gold, 1.2 grams per tonne silver and 0.27 per cent zinc (Assessment Report 31543).
